Así lo recomienda el doctor Fabián Fiestas, en el Congreso Internacional de Medicina Humana de la UPAO.
“El
principio que debe regir la vida de todo médico es el de no hacer daño. En este
sentido, debemos practicar la medicina basada en evidencias científicas, para
evitar, por ejemplo, lo que ocurrió durante la pandemia, cuando en el país se
aprobó para la prevención y el tratamiento de la COVID-19 el uso de la
ivermectina”, dijo el doctor Fabián Fiestas Saldarriaga, durante el IV Congreso
Internacional de Medicina Humana UPAO 2023.
El doctor en filosofía y especialista en epidemiología añadió, en la jornada inaugural del evento académico, que se debe orientar la investigación hacia los problemas locales. Para entender mucho mejor las situaciones recomendó a los estudiantes de Medicina Humana de la Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego (UPAO) leer al filósofo Karl Popper y así afilar su pensamiento crítico.
“Toda hipótesis necesita ser probada para descartar los estudios o ensayos científicos zombis; por eso la labor médica es de mucha responsabilidad porque se trata de la vida de seres humanos. En este contexto, los exhorto a motivarse por el estudio de la epidemiología y tener como referente a quien es considerado el padre de esta especialidad: John Snow.
Rectora inaugura Cuarto Congreso
Internacional
La
inauguración del Cuarto Congreso Internacional de Medicina Humana, que se
desarrollará del 3 al 5 de octubre, estuvo a cargo de la rectora de la UPAO, la
doctora Yolanda Peralta Chávez. Durante su discurso, enfatizó el compromiso
asumido desde hace 35 años por la comunidad orreguiana de promover la ciencia y
la investigación científica.
