Le confirió la Medalla de La Libertad en mérito a sus 50 años como docente
En honor a su destacada trayectoria de 50 años al servicio de la formación de niños y jóvenes de Trujillo, el Consejo Regional de La Libertad le ofreció un público reconocimiento a la Dra. Bertha Malabrigo de Vértiz, quien, durante los últimos 32 años, ha laborado como maestra en la Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego (UPAO).
La ceremonia se realizó en el auditorio de la Casa de la Identidad, como parte de las actividades de celebración del Día del Maestro. En este evento, se destacó el largo camino que ha recorrido la doctora Malabrigo en el ejercicio de la docencia, en colegios públicos y privados, así como su labor de formadora de actores y de actriz de teatro y cine nacional.
El consejero regional David Calderón de los Ríos fue el encargado de entregar la resolución que acredita a la Dra. Bertha Malabrigo como docente del bicentenario y le confiere la Medalla de La Libertad, en nombre de nuestra región.
Fue profesora en el C. E. 80820 Víctor Larco y en los colegios particulares José Gálvez y Alfredo Pinillos. También desempeñó esta labor en la Escuela de Arte Dramático de Trujillo, donde, además de la docencia, cumplió su servicio como encargada de la jefatura académica y de la dirección general.
En 1989 inicia su labor académica en la UPAO, como maestra y directora del grupo de teatro de la Universidad, y docente de los cursos de Lengua y Literatura y de Oratoria. En la universidad orreguiana ha ocupado cargos jerárquicos, como el de secretaria académica de la Facultad de Ciencias Económicas, secretaria general de la Universidad y miembro de la Asamblea Universitaria, entre otros.
