Lleva mensaje de amor y fraternidad a familias vulnerables de La Libertad y Piura.
La Esperanza Nace entre Nosotros es la campaña desarrollada por la Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego (UPAO), con ocasión de la Navidad, en las regiones de Piura y La Libertad. Fueron más de 400 niños y 200 adultos los beneficiados con kits escolares y víveres, respectivamente.
Esta vez, la campaña se realizó en los distritos de Moche y Florencia de Mora, de Trujillo, y en los de Bernal y Cristo Nos Valga, en la provincia de Sechura (región Piura), y fue liderada por la Oficina de Responsabilidad Social Universitaria, que dirige el maestro Oscar Ñique Cadillo.
La UPAO, a lo largo de sus 33 años de vida institucional, se ha identificado por su espíritu solidario, no solo en Navidad, sino durante todo el año, con la realización de diversas campañas de salud integral, playas limpias, atención psicológica, orientación jurídica, ambiental y para el cuidado de las mascotas, entre otras, con la participación de estudiantes y docentes.
Por Navidad se distribuyeron canastas surtidas con alimentos de primera necesidad, para los adultos mayores. Por su parte, a los niños les entregaron kits escolares, a diferencia de años anteriores, que consistía en el clásico juguete, con el propósito de potenciar su creatividad. Este kit comprendió colores, crayolas, cuadernos de dibujo y lápices, entre otros útiles.
En esta ocasión la UPAO benefició a 403 niños y 200 adultos mayores en total. Los sectores favorecidos fueron los centros poblados de Antiguo Pozo Oscuro y Cordillera, en el distrito de Bernal, y Chutuque, Los Jardines, Cerritos, Santa Clara, Chuper y San Cristo, en el distrito de Cristo Nos Valga.
En el caso de Trujillo, los sectores beneficiados fueron Miramar y el distrito de Florencia de Mora, a través del hospital Walter Cruz Vilca y el establecimiento de salud UPAO - Florencia de Mora, los que actúan como brazos de responsabilidad social de la Universidad. (APB-PRENSA UPAO)
