Establecimiento de Florencia de Mora fue recategorizado por la Geresa
La Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego se convirtió en la primera
universidad del norte del país en contar con una clínica propia, después que la
Gerencia Regional de Salud (Geresa) otorgara la categoría II-1 al
Establecimiento de Salud UPAO Florencia de Mora (ESU-FM) que administra la
referida casa de estudios superiores.
La resolución de gerencia general N° 733 resolvió clasificar al ESU-FM como
establecimiento de salud con internamiento: clínicas de atención general,
señalando que la decisión se adoptó luego de una rigurosa evaluación de los
estándares exigidos para otorgar la recategorización.
Con esta categorización, el establecimiento de salud podrá realizar
cirugías de mayor complejidad las 24 horas del día, con capacidad de hospitalización
en camas para hombres, mujeres y niños.
“Este nivel que nos han otorgado permitirá prestar un servicio de mayor calidad
y alta especialidad, no solo para los habitantes de Florencia de Mora, sino
también de distritos aledaños, incluso de Trujillo, que están en largas listas
de espera en hospitales públicos o no pueden acceder a los privados por los
altos costos”, dijo el director de la clínica, el médico cirujano Andrés Aguilar
Velásquez.
La evaluación determinó el cumplimiento de los estándares de médicos
especialistas, personal técnico y equipamiento de última generación en los
servicios de consulta externa, medicina interna, cirugía general,
ginecoobstetricia, medicina familiar y comunitaria, oftalmología, pediatría,
geriatría y reumatología, psicología, nutrición, enfermería y patología, entre
otras especialidades.
“Esta es una oportunidad que tenemos para ampliar nuestra cobertura de
atención a patologías de mayor complejidad, como cirugías pediátricas, de
traumatología, hernias y vesículas, obstétricas y de otorrinolaringología,
entre otras”, añadió el director.
Además, resaltó que la UPAO en la primera universidad en contar con una clínica
propia; esta recategorización marca un hito grandioso pues no solo mejorará la
atención médico hospitalaria, sino que se convertirá en una importante fuente
de información para la realización de trabajos de investigación y generar
nuevos conocimientos.
Desde la propuesta de recategorización, el Programa de Estudio de Medicina Humana y la alta dirección de la UPAO invirtieron esfuerzos y recursos económicos para alcanzar una meta que, a la par de beneficiar a una población de escasos recursos con servicios de salud de calidad, será un pilar fundamental en la formación académica de los futuros médicos egresados de la prestigiosa universidad trujillana.
