El médico Omar Gamarra Vilela es también tutor de internado médico del Programa de Estudio de Medicina Humana
Mediante la Resolución Ejecutiva 135-2023, el Gobierno Regional de Piura designó como director general de la Subregión de Salud Luciano Castillo Colona al médico y docente del Programa de Estudio de Medicina Humana de la Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego (UPAO) del campus en Piura Jhon Omar Martín Gamarra Vilela.
En su visita a las diferentes instituciones de salud de la región, la jefa de la Oficina de Gestión Académica de la filial en Piura, la doctora Gladys Peña Pazos, llevó el saludo de la rectora de esta casa de estudios superiores.
A través de una carta, la máxima autoridad de la UPAO, la doctora Yolanda Peralta Chávez, felicitó la designación del mencionado profesional de la salud y le deseó éxitos en su gestión para mejorar y fortalecer el sistema de salud de la subregión.
Por su parte, el magíster Gamarra agradeció la congratulación y mostró disposición por seguir trabajando en favor de la formación de futuros médicos y en la investigación. En ese sentido, también agradeció a la decana (e) de la Facultad de Medicina Humana, la doctora Katherine Lozano Peralta, por la confianza depositada en él.
Actualmente, por la UPAO, Gamarra Vilela es tutor del internado médico del hospital de apoyo II-2 de Sullana y también se ha desempeñado como coordinador del curso de Pediatría y parte del comité de investigación. (RRM/RRC – PRENSA UPAO).
