Celebración para 400 niños de Mache, Florencia de Mora y Alto Trujillo. Todos, beneficiarios de programa de salud integral orreguiano.
El evento programado para las 10:00 a. m. del viernes 22 de
diciembre exigió un despliegue dedicado y diligente de parte de la comunidad
orreguiana, específicamente de la Facultad de Medicina Humana, que había
preparado una gran sorpresa, para niños de escasos recursos económicos, en el
Teatro Víctor Raúl Lozano Ibáñez.
A primera hora, los choferes de la UPAO soltaron los frenos
de sus vehículos hasta el propio Mache para trasladar a los niños, que, al
llegar a Trujillo, fueron recibidos con un apetitoso desayuno.
En el fóyer del Teatro, una mesada con panetón, chocolate y
otros carritos con canchita, manzanas acarameladas y algodones dulces
despertaban el apetito de los engreídos.
La actividad estuvo liderada por
la propia doctora Katherine Lozano Peralta, directora del Programa de Estudio
de Medicina Humana, y el decano de la Facultad de Medicina Humana, el doctor
Juan Díaz Placencia. Asimismo, la rectora de la UPAO, la Dra. Yolanda Peralta,
estuvo presente presidiendo la celebración, para beneplácito de todos.
Este fue el colofón del esfuerzo de responsabilidad social
de los programas de estudio de la Facultad de Medicina Humana de la UPAO,
liderados por la Escuela de Medicina Humana. Por segundo año, llevan salud a
los niños de Florencia de Mora, Alto Trujillo y Trujillo. No obstante, esta es
la primera vez en que se incluyen a los niños del ande liberteño, propiamente
del distrito de Mache (provincia de Otuzco). Con esto resultan beneficiados más
de 400 niños de entre uno y doce años de edad, que provienen de familias de
escasos recursos económicos.
Para ellos se abrieron gratuitamente las puertas del Teatro
Víctor Raúl Lozano, de la UPAO, que ofreció un gran espectáculo navideño de más
de una hora, amenizado por la agrupación artística Planeta Cosmos, que culminó
cuando los niños invadieron las tablas para las fotos del recuerdo.
Inmediatamente, recibieron sus regalos, y ya en el fóyer compartieron la gran
chocolatada.
SALUD INTEGRAL
Esta actividad social, que formalmente comenzó el 11 de
diciembre, contó con la participación activa de los programas de estudio de
Medicina Humana, Psicología y Estomatología, y fue coordinada por el Establecimiento
de Salud UPAO-Florencia de Mora.
El trabajo se enfocó en nueve clubes de madres y en
programas sociales de la Demuna del mencionado distrito. Entre las actividades
que se realizaron por segundo año consecutivo estuvieron el despistaje de
anemia y de parásitos y la consulta médica pediátrica para los niños
beneficiados.
Esta gran campaña de salud estuvo orientada a promover
estilos de vida saludables. La más importante charla se realizó en el auditorio
de la Municipalidad de Florencia de Mora, con la presencia de los integrantes y
lideresas de los clubes de madres y del programa de vaso de leche de Florencia
y el Alto Trujillo.
La atención odontológica y de psicología se extendió a los niños
de los sectores Barrio 7B y Barrio 6A de Alto Trujillo, así como de la zona de 3
de Octubre, de Florencia de Mora.
Además, el equipo de cirujanos dentistas impartió una serie de
recomendaciones para prevenir enfermedades bucales, a partir de una
alimentación saludable y el cepillado de los dientes y limpieza de la lengua.
Por su parte, el equipo de psicólogos de la UPAO orientó a las madres de
familia a gestionar en sus hogares las relaciones afectivas saludables entre
padres e hijos y la erradicación de la violencia psicológica y física, mediante
el diálogo y la comunicación asertiva.
Previamente, como parte de esta campaña de responsabilidad
social, en el mes de noviembre los médicos cirujanos de la UPAO realizaron
gratuitamente 60 intervenciones quirúrgicas de hernias inguinales y
umbilicales.
