La medalla y diploma fueron conferidos por el Día Internacional de la Mujer
La Asociación de
Universidades del Perú (ASUP) confirió la distinción Rectora Líder 2024 a la
doctora Felícita Yolanda Peralta Chávez, rectora de la Universidad Privada
Antenor Orrego (UPAO), en la ceremonia del Día Internacional de la Mujer,
realizada en el Centro Cultural de San Marcos (Lima).
La máxima autoridad
orreguiana recibió la medalla de oro y el diploma de honor con la distinción
que le fuera entregada por la doctora Lida Asencios Trujillo, rectora de la
Universidad Nacional de Educación Enrique Guzmán y Valle La Cantuta y también
presidente de la ASUP.
La distinción otorgada
fue aprobada por unanimidad por el consejo directivo de la ASUP, como un gesto
de valoración a su condición de la primera rectora en el norte del país, llevando
adelante una gestión académica que impulsa la formación de profesionales de
calidad para el desarrollo de la sociedad en la pujante región liberteña y el
país.
“Me siento muy agradecida
por este gesto de la ASUP. Esta distinción me honra y me hace muy feliz, pues
es el reconocimiento a mi labor, pero también es un tributo a todos los que me
acompañan en esta delicada misión de trabajar con humildad y compromiso hacia
la excelencia”, manifestó.
La doctora Yolanda
Peralta fue elegida por unanimidad como rectora de la UPAO para los periodos
2015-2020 y 2020-2025. También se desempeñó como representante de las
universidades de la macrorregión norte ante la ASUP (2017) y es presidenta de
la Red de Universidades Saludables de La Libertad (desde el 2018 hasta la
actualidad).
Obtuvo dos
reconocimientos de parte del Congreso de la República: como personalidad de la
región La Libertad y el Primeras Mujeres Rectoras de las Universidades del Perú
(ambas, en el contexto del bicentenario de la independencia nacional), por su
liderazgo en la universidad peruana. Asimismo, en el 2021, fue premiada con la
