Estudiantes de campus Piura y Trujillo destacan en kumite
Chicas de bronce. Tres estudiantes de Trujillo y dos de Piura logran, en reñida competencia, ganar la medalla de bronce en el campeonato nacional de karate, organizado por la Federación Deportiva Universitaria del Perú (Fedup). La cita deportiva se disputó en el polideportivo de la Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería (UNI).
Andrea García Fernández, categoría -68 kg. (Medicina Humana), Perla García More, categoría -60 kg, (Derecho) y Lilia Andrade Castro, categoría +68 kg. (Economía y Negocios Internacionales) del campus Trujillo sumaron medallas para el equipo de la UPAO en kumite.
Por Piura consiguieron la de bronce, Karla Saavedra Senmache, categorías -50 kg. (Derecho) y Noelia López Sevilla, categoría +68 kg. (Medicina Humana). Los entrenadores son el sensei Felipe Salaverry Muñoz y el sensei Luis Velásquez Temoche, respectivamente.
“Entre setiembre y octubre se disputarán los Juegos Nacionales o Universiada, en Arequipa, y durante el tiempo que resta el equipo seguirá una exigente preparación para llegar en mejores condiciones técnicas y físicas a la competencia”, indicó el coordinador de Bienestar Universitario del campus UPAO Piura, el CPC Carlos Egúsquiza Cerna.
