Fue una propuesta de la Facultad de Derecho, para resalta sus altos méritos académicos y profesionales
La Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego (UPAO) de Trujillo distinguió con el grado de doctor honoris causa a dos prominentes jurisconsultos españoles con gran renombre en el mundo jurídico internacional.
Se trata de los doctores Francisco Javier García Roca y Ricardo Alonso García, quienes fueron incorporados a la academia orreguiana a solicitud de la Facultad de Derecho y Ciencias Políticas de esta prestigiosa casa de estudios superiores.
La solemne ceremonia estuvo presidida por la rectora, la doctora Yolanda Peralta Chávez, quien estuvo acompañada de los doctores Luis Cerna Bazán y Julio Chang Lam, vicerrectores académico y de investigación, respectivamente.
El elogio académico a los doctorandos honoríficos estuvo a cargo del doctor Raúl Yván Lozano Peralta, decano de la Facultad de Derecho y Ciencias Políticas, quien resaltó los valores académicos y profesionales de los distinguidos miembros del foro español.
El doctor García Roca se desempeña como vocal permanente de la comisión general de codificación, sección de derecho público, del Ministerio de Justicia en España; además, es vicepresidente de la lnternational Association of Constitutional Law (IACL).
Fue miembro del comité ejecutivo y presidente emérito de la Asociación de Constitucionalistas de España (ACE) y presidente de la Asociación de Letrados del Tribunal Constitucional (AL TC).
El doctor Alonso García se desempeñó como experto en derecho de la Unión Europea y en los sistemas de integración regional iberoamericanos. Él es catedrático de derecho administrativo y decano de la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
Es miembro de la Real Academia de Jurisprudencia y Legislación. Se ha desempeñado como secretario académico del Departamento de Derecho Administrativo de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid y como coordinador de Derecho Comunitario del Centro de Estudios Superiores Sociales y Jurídicos Ramón Carande.
Ambas eminencias ofrecieron un espacio para el análisis de la actualidad en el campo del derecho. El doctor García Roca hizo una exposición magistral titulada “Globalización de los derechos fundamentales versus identidades constitucionales: la protección supranacional”.
Por su parte, la excelente disertación del doctor Alonso García se llamó “La carta de derechos fundamentales de la Unión Europea: ¿carta a la carta o menú completo?”.
La doctora Yolanda Peralta expresó el regocijo de la comunidad de la universidad por la incorporación al cuerpo académico de la UPAO de tan distinguidos y renombrados juristas españoles.
“El fruto de la sabiduría que caracteriza a cada uno de los ilustres visitantes llega a nuestra universidad gracias a la iniciativa de la Facultad de Derecho y Ciencias Políticas y de la consistente excelencia de ambos profesores, que le otorgan el justo brillo a la cátedra, la jurisprudencia y la función pública”, dijo.
A la cita también asistieron los decanos de las distintas facultades y los directores de los programas de estudio, docentes, estudiantes y personas especialmente invitadas a este cónclave de excelencia y alto nivel académico. (CGG/RRC – PRENSA UPAO).
