Roberto Cortijo, estudiante de Ingeniería Industrial, es campeón nacional de salto triple con 13.30 m.
Aplausos para el campeón. Roberto Cortijo Zavaleta, estudiante de la Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego (UPAO), es el flamante campeón nacional de salto triple con una marca de 13.30 metros. El Certamen Nacional de Atletismo (clausura) fue organizado por la Federación Deportiva Universitaria del Perú (Fedup) y se disputó en la Villa Deportiva Nacional (Videna) de Lima.
El atleta orreguiano (21 años) y estudiante del sexto ciclo del Programa de Estudio de Ingeniería Industrial superó en la final a dos competidores de la Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC).
“Estoy muy emocionado por este nuevo logro. Es mi primer título universitario. Ha sido una competencia muy reñida y ahora me entrenaré mucho más para ratificar el título en los Juegos Nacionales Universitarios de Ayacucho 2024”, comentó el medallista de oro.
Roberto Zavaleta, a sus 21 años, ha logrado resultados satisfactorios en el atletismo nacional. Representó al Perú en el sudamericano de menores de Ecuador (2018). Ahí registró su mejor marca, 14.20 m, y ocupó el sexto lugar. Además, fue subcampeón nacional, representando a la Liga de Moche, ese mismo año, con una marca de 13.69 m.
“Primero practiqué salto largo y fui campeón escolar. Luego, en el 2016, incursioné en el salto triple y afortunadamente he conseguido importantes resultados”, agregó.
