El docente de Ingeniería Industrial, Jorge Flores López explica cómo fomentar la preservación de nuestro entorno
Son diversas las
formas con las que se puede contribuir a la conservación ambiental y reducir
los niveles de contaminación de nuestro entorno; sin embargo, es fundamental
comenzar por educar y sensibilizar a la población. Así lo indicó el doctor
Jorge Flores López, especialista en gestión medioambiental y docente del
Programa de Estudio de Ingeniería Industrial de la Universidad Privada Antenor
Orrego (UPAO) del campus Piura.
“Cabe indicar
que la educación y la sensibilización sobre prácticas sostenibles juegan un
papel más que fundamental para empoderar a las comunidades y que estas adopten
hábitos cada vez más responsables y contribuyan a la conservación de nuestro
entorno medioambiental, en el cual interactuamos y vivimos”, mencionó el
docente orreguiano, en el marco del Día Mundial del Medio Ambiente (5 de
junio).
En ese sentido,
el especialista medioambiental dijo que es muy importante que la población adopte
una cultura de reducción de residuos y consumo responsable. Para ello, debe
participar de manera activa en los programas y campañas de recolección
selectiva que promueven el Ministerio del Ambiente y municipalidades, así como
otras entidades.
El doctor Flores
destacó la importancia del reciclaje en la promoción de la economía circular,
además de la reducción de niveles de contaminación por medio de los residuos
sólidos que terminan en los botaderos y puntos críticos de las ciudades, además
de los océanos.
Asimismo,
mencionó que cada persona puede contribuir desde su hogar mediante la adopción
de simples prácticas de ahorro y eficiencia.
“Por ejemplo,
utilizar focos LED de bajo consumo o desenchufar aparatos eléctricos cuando no
estén en uso. Por otra parte, es esencial ahorrar agua y, por ello, hay que
verificar posibles fugas en los caños de las viviendas. Acciones simples como
estas, combinadas con la promoción del transporte sostenible y el uso de
energías renovables, crean un impacto significativo y positivo en el
medioambiente desde la comodidad del hogar”, señaló.
El docente Jorge Flores López es ingeniero industrial con maestría en ingeniería ambiental y doctorado en ciencias ambientales. Tiene más de 15 años de experiencia en administración, logística, gestión y supervisión de proyectos de infraestructura ambientales y gestión integral de residuos sólidos. Asimismo, en la elaboración, diseño e implementación de sistemas integrados de gestión ambiental y salud ocupacional.(NVR/APB-PRENSA UPAO)
