Realizará operaciones y atenderá las 24 horas en emergencias para adultos, gestantes y niños.
Salud de calidad para todos. La Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego (UPAO) pondrá al servicio de las familias más vulnerables de la región el primer hospital universitario del norte del país, con más especialidades médicas, intervenciones quirúrgicas, hospitalización y atención en emergencia para adultos, gestantes y niños, durante 24 horas.
“El sueño del ex promotor fundador y exrector, el doctor Víctor Raúl Lozano Ibáñez, de brindar servicios de salud con calidad y calidez se hará pronto una feliz realidad, gracias a la actual gestión de la rectora, la doctora Yolanda Peralta Chávez. El Establecimiento de Salud UPAO-Florencia de Mora será recategorizado de nivel I-4 a nivel II-1 para atender a las familias de escasos recursos económicos, principalmente”, dijo el director de los centros de salud de la Universidad, el doctor Juan Jara.
Para el próximo mes, el actual establecimiento de salud será evaluado por la Gerencia Regional de Salud de La Libertad (Geresa), considerando los indicadores de equipamiento, recurso humano especializado, infraestructura y organización. Tras este proceso, Florencia de Mora tendrá su primer hospital quirúrgico para atender a sus más de 37 000 habitantes.
“Hemos realizado una auditoría interna exitosa; eso nos fortalece y motiva para seguir trabajando en equipo, los médicos, profesionales de la salud, laboratoristas, técnicos, personal administrativos y especialistas, con el Programa de Estudio de Medicina Humana de la UPAO, para convertirnos en un hospital de servicios de calidad y humanitario a favor de los más necesitados”, agregó Jara Sánchez.
En este proceso rumbo a la recategorización, la UPAO ha invertido en la compra de torres laparoscópicas, salas de operaciones, equipos de anestesia, equipos esterilizadores y bombas de oxígeno. Además, se han fortalecido el laboratorio clínico, la unidad de diagnósticos por imágenes y el banco de sangre.
CAMPAÑAS DE SALUD INTEGRAL PARA TODOS
El trabajo de responsabilidad social de la UPAO se inició hace nueve años, como resultado de un convenio de cooperación con la Municipalidad de Florencia de Mora. Durante este tiempo se han realizado más de cien campañas médicas gratuitas y se han atendido a más de 100 000 pobladores en 20 especialidades médicas, con la participación de todos los programas de estudio de las facultades de Medicina Humana y Ciencias de la Salud de la UPAO.
