Directora de Enfermería, Elsa Vargas, viajó a Estados Unidos para exponer
La directora del Programa de Estudio de Enfermería
de la Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego (UPAO), la doctora Elsa Vargas Díaz,
tuvo una destacada participación en la pasantía internacional de simulación
promovida por la Asociación Peruana de Facultades y Escuelas de Enfermería
(ASPEFEM).
El evento se realizó del 24 al 28 de
junio, en la Universidad de Miami, Estados Unidos, que cuenta con un hospital
de simulación con los últimos adelantes de la tecnología y una metodología
horizontal de enseñanza-aprendizaje.
“Detrás de los simuladores hay personas
que manifiestan lo que sienten, como lo haría un paciente, y dando pautas sobre
aspectos que los estudiantes dejaron de evaluar para que recuerden y retomen el
sentido correcto del tratamiento”, comentó.
Resaltó la importancia del método de
enseñanza horizontal respecto al desarrollo del pensamiento crítico de los
estudiantes, enfocándose en casos clínicos con máximo de tres objetivos de
aprendizaje en tiempos de 7 a 10 minutos frente a los simuladores, para luego
pasar a una estancia de comentarios y análisis frente a toda la clase.
La autoridad académica dijo que la
experiencia vivida abre la posibilidad a mejoras en la evaluación de
competencias que tiene el Programa de Estudio, pues, aunque se cuenta con el
ECOE (examen de competencias objetivo estructurado), hay algunos aspectos que
se deben afinar.
“Va a ser importante cambiar la
metodología de enseñanza desde los niveles básicos, ofreciendo al estudiante la
libertad de expresarse sin temor a equivocarse, y una vez terminada la
evaluación de competencias (ECOE), hacer la retroalimentación para que el
estudiante sepa en qué se equivocó y en qué tiene que mejorar”, aseguró.
