Los futuros profesionales de la salud se benefician con más de 20 ambientes modernos.
El Programa de Estudio de Medicina Humana (campus Piura) cuenta con 24 ambientes especializados que contribuyen enormemente a la formación académica y potencian las habilidades de los futuros médicos orreguianos.
Estas instalaciones, entre laboratorios y salas, están ubicadas en los diez pisos con que cuenta el imponente edificio E. En cada uno de ellos encontramos ambientes académicos de primer nivel y los laboratorios de Histología I y II.
Estos laboratorios están muy bien equipados. Contienen sofisticados microscopios ópticos, útiles para que los estudiantes desarrollen habilidades para la observación, descripción y evaluación de partículas microscópicas. También permiten identificar las diversas estructuras celulares de los tejidos y de los aparatos y sistemas del cuerpo humano.
Por otra parte, tenemos el anfiteatro de anatomía virtual y el anfiteatro de anatomía macroscópica. Estos dos ambientes especializados tienen modernos y sofisticados equipos que facilitan la observación y evaluación de estructuras (óseas, musculares, etc.) anatómicas del cuerpo humano.
Asimismo, permiten su observación en imágenes tridimensionales; esto, gracias a la tecnología implementada en los equipos de disección virtual. Otra ventaja es que se permite el estudio profundo de la anatomía humana, a través de las maquetas especializadas.
Cabe destacar que los demás ambientes con los que cuenta el campus Piura son la sala de embalsamamiento, laboratorio de farmacología, laboratorios de fisiología I y II, sala de esfuerzo físico, laboratorios de biología I y II, laboratorio de parasitología, laboratorios de química I y II, laboratorio de microbiología, laboratorios de física I y II, laboratorio de inmunología, laboratorios de bioquímica I y II, laboratorio de patología, sala multifuncional y laboratorio de cirugía experimental.
Asimismo, en el propio edificio E se encuentran las instalaciones del moderno Instituto de Competencias y Destrezas Médicas (Icodem), el cual pronto entrará en funcionamiento al cien por ciento para beneficio de los estudiantes de la Facultad de Medicina Humana. (NVR/RRC - PRENSA UPAO).
