Su investigación fue elegida la mejor en su categoría trabajo libre
Un equipo investigador del programa de
estudio de Medicina Humana alcanzó el primer lugar en el concurso de trabajo
libre realizado en el marco del cuarto congreso panamericano de córnea 2024,
desarrollado en Lima, del 13 al 15 de junio, con la investigación “Eficacia del
lente de contacto impregnado en bromfenaco 0.09” para el control del dolor post
queratectomía fotorefractiva”.
“Nosotros participamos en la categoría
trabajos libres de investigación, junto a otros 43 trabajos seleccionados
presentados en posters en pantalla digital. De los 44, fueron seleccionados 11 considerados
de mayor importancia para ser expuestos al pleno, y fuimos seleccionados como el
mejor trabajo del congreso panamericano”.
Así informó el doctor Jorge Pomatanta
Plasencia, docente del curso Cirugía II, quien lideró el grupo de
investigadores integrado por el interno de medicina Jean Zavaleta, quien se
encargó del monitoreo durante el proceso de recuperación de los pacientes y el
manejo del dolor durante el tratamiento.
También integran Renzo Pomatanta, recién
egresado de las aulas orreguianas, encargado de la tabulación y muestra de los
cuadros y gráficas en el trabajo; y el doctor Jorge Silva, quien participó
también en la parte quirúrgica, además de Harumi Burga como expositora y
consultora.
Comentó que el jurado calificador estuvo
integrado por el doctor Daniel Scorsetti, presidente de la PAAO (Asociación
Panamericana de Oftalmología); el doctor José Álvaro Gómez, presidente de la
Sociedad Brasileña de Córnea de la universidad de Sao Paulo; y el doctor Jaime
Martínez, miembro de la Sociedad de Córnea del Instituto Bascom Palmer (USA).
“Este es un claro ejemplo de lo que podemos lograr con trabajos en equipo, objetivos que tienen el programa de estudio y la Facultad de Medicina de la UPAO, gracias al apoyo de nuestra directora, la doctora Katherine Lozano”, indicó el destacado especialista.
La investigación se desarrolló en la
clínica Oftalmocenter, sede docente de la UPAO.
El evento fue organizado por la PAAO y contó con la participación de 560 oftalmólogos en los distintos simposiums y conferencias. (CGG/RRC – PRENSA UPAO).
