Es el único peruano seleccionado por el departamento de agricultura del país norteamericano
El docente de la Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego
(UPAO) Marco Rebaza Rodríguez ganó una beca para seguir estudios de
especialización en el uso de madera para viviendas de emergencia. Su
preparación académica la realizará en la Universidad de Oregón (Estados Unidos).
El destacado docente de la Facultad de Arquitectura,
Urbanismo y Artes (FAUA) es el único peruano calificado para esta capacitación,
que será del 20 de agosto al 12 de noviembre del presente año.
La preparación del arquitecto se concreta gracias al
Programa de Becas Norman Borlaug, que tiene como finalidad beneficiar a los
estudiantes de excelencia académica con deseos de superación en el desarrollo
de la agronomía.
“Esta beca me permitirá especializarme en el uso de
madera estadounidense para el diseño de prototipos de vivienda en situación de
emergencia. Tengo el privilegio de ser el único peruano seleccionado y aceptado
por el Departamento de Agricultura de los Estados Unidos para seguir esta
capacitación y entrenamiento”, puntualizó.
Uso racional sostenible de productos
forestales
Hace un año, el decano de la FAUA, el doctor Roberto
Saldaña Milla, vivió una experiencia similar, becado por el Gobierno estadounidense,
para capacitarse en el uso racional sostenible de los productos forestales,
como la madera y sus derivados.
