Facultad de Medicina Humana de la UPAO inaugura modernos laboratorios
Un
bioterio, laboratorios de microbiología y parasitología, farmacología y un
anfiteatro de anatomía para seguir fortaleciendo las competencias académicas y
de investigación de los estudiantes inauguró la Facultad de Medicina Humana de
la Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego (UPAO), en el marco de sus 25 años de
creación. Estos se ubican en el edificio P de campus universitario.
Las
modernas instalaciones académicas fueron apadrinadas por el congresista de la
república Diego Bazán Calderón y la médico cirujana Carmen Contreras García. La ceremonia de inauguración y bendición
fue presidida por la rectora, la doctora Yolanda Peralta Chávez.
En
el laboratorio de microbiología y parasitología los futuros médicos realizan
las prácticas de observación de los microorganismos, sean virus o bacterias, su
caracterización y patogenia, así como también de los parásitos, con fines de
conocer sus formas de acción en el cuerpo humano.
También
aprenden sobre los efectos químicos y fisiológicos de los fármacos en el cuerpo
humano, en un ambiente seguro para la experimentación; además, de la
manipulación y administración de los medicamentos. Todo esto lo realizan el
laboratorio de farmacología, en las sesiones prácticas de estudio farmacológico
de productos naturales y sintéticos, así como su acción y vías de administración.
Mientras
que en el anfiteatro de anatomía se desarrollan las prácticas con piezas
anatómicas reales, maquetas o virtuales, en un ambiente adecuado con capacidad
de aforo que permite el trabajo de los grupos de estudio con todas las
condiciones óptimas para garantizar la calidad del proceso de enseñanza
aprendizaje.
Y en el bioterio, el único en la macrorregión norte del país, se realiza la crianza y reproducción de ratas y ratones para trabajos de investigación, de los estudiantes de Medicina Humana, Psicología y Estomatología, en un espacio climatizado, libre de alérgenos y esterilizado para garantizar el crecimiento saludable de los roedores, bajo estándares de calidad internacional en bioseguridad. El objetivo es proteger a los animales y a los usuarios.
Además,
comprende las áreas de cuarentena, experimentación, necropsia y muestras
biológicas. También se ha habilitado el área de colonia reproductiva,
alimentos, almacén y lavado de jaulas y una zona para desechos. (CGG/APB-PRENSA
