El hospital Walter Cruz Vilca realiza campaña contra enfermedades no transmisibles
Porque la salud siempre
es prioridad, la Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego (UPAO) a través del
Hospital Walter Cruz Vilca (Miramar, Alto Moche), realiza la campaña Semana de Oro
de la Prevención, para evitar las enfermedades no transmisibles, con el lema “Come
saludable, muévete y chequéate”.
Las enfermedades no transmisibles son son aquellas que no se dan a causa de un virus, bacterias, o como consecuencia de una infección y por lo tanto no son contagiosas o propagables entre las personas. También son conocidas como enfermedades crónicas, ya que suelen ser de larga duración y progresión lenta, como, por ejemplo, la diabetes, hipertensión y cáncer, entre otras.
Para realizar esta campaña, el hospital Walter Cruz Vilca, administrado vía convenio de cooperación interinstitucional con el Gobierno Regional de La Liberad, promueve diversas actividades, como la identificación de factores de riesgo, sesiones educativas, exámenes médicos de laboratorio y una feria preventiva de daños no transmisibles.
Además, se ofrece orientación y consejería en nutrición sobre alimentación saludable, considerando que el hábito de consumir alimentos balanceados en proteínas, carbohidratos y vitaminas contribuye favorablemente en la prevención de enfermedades.
Según la Organización
Mundial de la Salud (OMS), las enfermedades no transmisibles (ENT) generan la
muerte de 41 millones de personas cada año, lo que equivale al 74 % de todas
las muertes en el mundo.
